Volunteer at
Total Rewards'24

Stepping forward to lend a hand at Total Rewards'24 is a great way to make new connections, give back to your WorldatWork community, and have fun while you're at it!

Volunteer Roles

We'll have four volunteer roles this year: Conference Coaches, Community Connectors, Session Emcees, and "Follow Me" Attendees. You can learn more about each of the roles below:

What you'll do:
Use your past experience attending Total Rewards to help other attendees maximize their time at Total Rewards'24. You'll work with individuals and small groups to help them plan their personalized conference journey including:

  • Selecting education sessions
  • Deciding who to connect with during networking sessions
  • Ensuring they are aware of and taking advantage of the resources in the Connection Zone

Who you are:
Conference Coaches are experience members of the Total Rewards profession. They're Total Rewards conference veterans who are passionate above helping others experience the skill-building and network-growing they've enjoyed at the conference in the past.

How much time you'll commit:

  • Up to 2 hours of preparation between March and May 2024, including attending a 60-minute, live digital training
  • 2-6 hours of work during one of the days of the conference

What you'll do:
Be a friendly face for first-time or solo-attendees and help all your fellow attendees connect with everything Total Rewards'24 has to offer. Community Connectors will fill a wide variety of roles at Total Rewards'24 including assisting registration, greeting conference participants at networking events, playing host at specific meet-ups, or working at specific areas (AI playground, wellness zone) in the Connection Zone.

Who you are:
At their heart, Community Connectors want to help people feel welcome and supported. They may love playing the role of host or sharing an insightful article with a colleague. At a party, they're scanning the crowd to see who needs someone to chat with. At work, they are the first to suggest a new tool. Or maybe they started a company book club.

How much time you'll commit:

  • Up to 2 hours of preparation between March and May 2024, including attending a 60-minute, live digital training
  • 2-6 hours of work during one of the days of the conference

What you'll do:
Help set our speakers up for success by introducing speakers in one of our breakout rooms and assisting the WorldatWork team member with items such as helping move attendees in and out of the room and facilitating Q&A if needed.

Who you are:
Whether you are a seasoned public speaker or you're looking for small opportunities to get more comfortable on a stage, this is a great opportunity. You are excited to practice your introductions until they are just right, and you're excited to be a calm presence for our breakout session speakers.

How much time you'll commit:

  • Up to 2 hours of preparation between March and May 2024, including attending a 60-minute, live digital training
  • 2-6 hours of work during one of the days of the conference

What you'll do:
The Total Rewards'24 schedule offers attendees an unprecedented level of choice – from education topics to session formats to networking opportunities. But with choice comes the burden to choose! Help your fellow attendees plan their conference journey by sharing yours!

You'll work hand-in-hand with the WorldatWork events team to craft your personal conference agenda, and then you'll make that plan available as inspiration for other attendees.

Who you are:
Total Rewards'24 "Follow Me" Attendees like helping colleagues and aren't shy about sharing resources.

To be part of our first ever "Follow Me" Program, you will need to be willing to:

  • Plan to attend Total Rewards'24 in Cincinnati, May 20-22;
  • Have a LinkedIn Profile and be willing to make one post a month in February, March, April, and May (The WorldatWork team will provide suggested copy and graphics to make it as easy as possible);
  • Record a brief, 30-second video for us on the Total Rewards'24 website in February (You'll do this over Zoom with a WorldatWork staff member with a suggested script); and
  • Create your conference plan in March, and allow WorldatWork to make it available to both registered attendees and potential attendees.

How much time you'll commit:

We estimate the total commitment will be about 3-4 hours spread out between Feb-May 2024. This will include:

  • 60 minutes to practice for and record your video
  • 60-90 minutes to create your conference plan
  • 30 minutes of posting to LinkedIn time

To be considered for a volunteer role, you must:

  • Have attended at least one WorldatWork Annual Conference in the past 5 years
  • Find joy from ensuring someone else has a memorable experience at the Total Rewards'24 Annual Conference

After you sign up, the WorldatWork Events team will reach out to you with further information and instructions.
