Dana Denny is a recently retired compensation policy specialist with 29 years of experience in compensation analysis, classification administration, and workforce planning for the State of Wisconsin. She has led statewide title and compensation surveys, developed and implemented compensation strategies, and provided guidance to state agencies regarding complex pay equity issues. Dana has also contributed to key public sector HR compensation policies and procedures that have shaped organizational practices across multiple state agencies.
She is Chair of the City of Madison Personnel Board and recently completed her term as past president of the Greater Madison Area SHRM (GMA SHRM) chapter, where she was recognized for her contributions with volunteer and professional of the year awards. She was president of IPMA-HR North Central Region and NCASG, both organizations serving human resources public sector and state government compensation professionals. She earned a BS in Psychology from Howard University and an MPA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Outside of her work in human resources, she enjoys spending time with her husband Garry and their two golden retrievers, Merlyn and Benny. Additionally, she is an avid artificial intelligence (AI) enthusiast, investigating and providing training to professionals on emerging AI tools and techniques.
