Kristianne Seargeant is Deputy General Counsel for Sutter Health. As in-house counsel, she oversees employment litigation, workplace investigations and provides daily advice and counsel and training to hospital and ambulatory leaders and to human resources professionals within the large healthcare organization. She has been the legal partner supporting Sutter Health's Total Rewards and Human Resources systemwide projects. Ms. Seargeant recently added to her responsibilities and now provides legal guidance on medical staff and physician relations issues.  Prior to joining Sutter Health, she was a shareholder at Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard in their litigation and employment practice groups. She represented both public and private sector clients with such matters as employment litigation, collective bargaining, arbitrations and administrative agency appeals. She also performed workplace investigations and provided in-house training and general advice and counsel. Before practicing law and while attending law school, Ms. Seargeant worked for the Sacramento Fire Department, where she climbed the ranks from Firefighter to Fire Captain to Battalion Chief. Ms. Seargeant was a 2-term Regional Fire Academy Drill Instructor, In-Service Training Officer, and a decorated member of FEMA’s Urban Search and Rescue Team and the California Office of Emergency Services.
