As the Head of Compensation & Benefits at MassMutual, Julia is responsible for ensuring the organization’s benefits and compensation strategy is aligned with MassMutual’s culture, motivates employees, and drives performance to advance the company’s overall strategy. In her role, Julia leads MassMutual’s broad-based compensation, benefits and well-being teams and partners closely with leaders across the company to align practices with evolving workforce needs, financial goals, and regulatory standards.  

Prior to this role, Julia spent her last 10 years since joining MassMutual in various roles leading employee relations, teams in HR consulting, as Head of HR & Communications for Great American Life (now MassMutual Ascend, a MassMutual subsidiary) and most recently as MassMutual’s Head of Compensation. Throughout these roles, Julia’s work focused on counseling leaders as an HRBP to designing the benefits and compensation approach through acquisition of a new subsidiary, to helping employees better understand the holistic value of their comp and benefits at MassMutual, to leading a modernization of the company’s compensation philosophy. 

Prior to joining MassMutual, Julia held various HR positions at ESPN, Comcast Cable, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  In these roles she led teams focused on HR consulting, compensation, and talent practices.  Julia earned her bachelor’s degree from Babson College and her MBA, HR from the University of Phoenix.
