Lisa Stella is a partner in Mercer’s Los Angeles office, leading the Career practice in Southern California and Nevada since 2011. Her advisory approach emphasizes a holistic, employee-centric viewpoint to create solutions that accelerate business strategy and transform organizations.

These solutions encompass total rewards strategies, job architecture, skill frameworks, compensation redesign, performance management, talent assessment, succession management, and change management. Lisa has collaborated with diverse client organizations, from high-growth companies to larger, mature firms undergoing transformation, encouraging them to evolve their approaches to business performance and individual development. She advocates for challenging existing performance management systems and embedding skills transparency, workforce analytics, and an inclusive employee experience.

At Mercer, Lisa manages a team of fifty consultants and support staff, acting as a people manager for partners and senior partners. She drives the implementation of talent strategies and develops growth strategies in the market. Lisa frequently speaks at Mercer and external conferences on topics such as the future of work, total rewards, talent strategy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Before joining Mercer, Lisa worked in education for adolescents, young adults, and executives. She graduated with honors from Harvard University, trained at the Graduate School of Education, earned an MA in Politics and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and obtained her MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, where she was a Carter Fellow.
