Description
“Organizational climates” describe the themes and tones of beliefs, thoughts, and emotions across groups of employees. Such climates can be measured and used to guide and facilitate better individual and organizational outcomes in many areas of importance — in particular, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). In this session you will learn what climate is, how it works to influence people in organizations, how it's measured and changed, and how it relates to DE&I outcomes.
Takeaways
- Understand organizational climates, with a focus on DE&I, and their effects on organizational outcomes.
- Recognize the primary drivers of DE&I perceptions and start a measurement program to assess aspects of DE&I climate.
- Modify your DE&I climate by understanding how targeted and consistent signals can change perceptions, expectations, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors.
