Lori Knowles has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Memorial Hermann Health System since August 2016, where she is responsible for leading and overseeing Human Resources, Clinical Education, Occupational Health and Chaplaincy. In this role, Knowles is focused on creating a modern employee experience where people can Be Well, Work Well, and Do Well together.

Knowles has more than 25 years of experience in human resources and healthcare operations. Prior to joining Memorial Hermann, Knowles was the Chief Operating Officer at RediClinic, a retail health company, from October 2007 to March 2011, and Vice President, Human Resources of RediClinic from October 2007 to October 2008. Throughout her career, Knowles has held several Human Resource roles at other notable health systems in Texas including The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Tenet Healthcare. Knowles holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Organizational Management as well as an executive leadership certification from Rice University.

Knowles has earned a Gold Award from Healthcare Today for her work in employee communications and was named as one of Houston’s Top 50 CHROs in 2018. Most recently, she was selected as the first President of the Houston Healthcare HR Association (HHHRA).
