Damian Yu, CFA is a Managing Director in the Executive Compensation and Board Advisory practice at WTW, where he advises boards, compensation committees, and senior management teams on executive compensation strategy, incentive design, governance, pay benchmarking, and broader compensation transformation issues. He works with organizations across a range of industries, with particular experience in financial services, technology, and publicly traded companies navigating complex compensation and governance environments.
Prior to rejoining consulting, Damian held senior in-house compensation leadership roles, giving him both advisory and practitioner perspectives on the operational realities of compensation management and governance. His recent work has focused increasingly on the intersection of AI, compensation, governance, and the future evolution of the compensation function.
Damian is currently leading a first-of-its-kind Canada-focused pulse survey examining how organizations are beginning to adopt AI in compensation, including governance, analytics, workflow automation, and operating model implications. The findings are informing a broader body of thought leadership, including articles, executive discussions, and industry presentations.
He is an active speaker within the compensation and Total Rewards community and has presented at organizations and forums including the GTA Rewards Association, the Equilar Executive Compensation Summit, and the University of Toronto. Damian has a BComm from Queen's University, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Managemnt at Northwestern University, andĀ holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
