Nisha Gopinath leads Human Resources for IBM in India & South Asia.

With over 20 years of experience in HR, Nisha has played a pivotal role in driving talent strategy, performance management, and skill development across a range of technology organizations—from software to services—aligning HR initiatives with business growth.

At IBM, Nisha has held several strategic leadership roles. Most recently, she served as the HR leader for IBM’s Global Delivery Centers, supporting over 110,000 IBMers across North America, Latin America, EMEA, Asia Pacific, and Greater China Group (GCG). 

Her diverse portfolio within IBM includes: 

• Head of Compensation for IBM Services globally
• Compensation and Benefits Director for IBM Asia Pacific 
• HR Mergers & Acquisitions Leader for IBM APAC and MEA 
• Talent Strategy Leader for Global Business Services 
• Chief of Staff to IBM’s Global CHRO 

Nisha spent five years at IBM Headquarters in New York. Prior to joining IBM, Nisha held HR roles at Sterling Commerce (a subsidiary of AT&T) and UbiNetics (later acquired by Qualcomm). 

A strong advocate for workplace inclusion, Nisha represented IBM at the G20 Summit in 2023. She is widely recognized for her business-driven HR approach and is passionate about mentoring emerging HR leaders. 

Nisha holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Rajagiri School of Business Studies, Kochi. She lives with her husband, who works at Synopsys, and their two sons, Neal (16) and Naman (14).
