Dr. Brian Levine is Pay Equity Leader and Partner at Merit Analytics Group. He has extensive experience in People Analytics, with a deep specialty in pay equity analysis. Brian spent more than 20 years as a workforce scientist at Mercer, where, after launching the firm’s pay equity offering, he held various leadership roles for more than a decade. Dr. Levine has been the principal pay equity consultant for more than 20 of the Fortune 100, has led hundreds of pay equity studies, most global in scope, and has significantly evolved methodologies over his career to ensure companies can achieve real progress and document that progress in their public reporting. An avid supporter of Rewards professionals, Dr. Levine frequently presents at WorldatWork events and has, most recently, published thought leadership relating to pay equity in The Journal of Total Rewards in 2021, 2024 and 2025 (forthcoming in Q2). He has been quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. Dr. Levine holds a Ph.D. in labor economics from Cornell University and has taught at NYU and Baruch College.
