Sal Morana serves as Executive Vice President of Alliant's National Pharmacy Practice. Sal's work is focused on employers including hospitals and health systems, their employee benefits and pharmacy operations, to drive the most cost effective pharmacy management strategies in a rapidly changing environment. Prior to joining Alliant, Sal was a senior consultant and Specialty Pharmacy leader in the pharmacy practice of a global advisory and brokerage firm. He also held senior pharmacy leadership positions in health systems (Pharmacy Director, Vice President of Pharmacy, Chief Operations Officer).
Sal holds a PhD in pharmacology and toxicology from Dartmouth Medical School and a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He received certification in Executive Leadership for Healthcare Professionals from Cornell University and in Principles and Practices in Pain Medicine from Harvard Medical School.
Sal is licensed to practice pharmacy in several states and is actively involved with a number of pharmacy organizations. He is also a former adjunct faculty member and assistant professor for Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, as well as a co-author of numerous industry research papers and case studies. Sal has experience working with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), Safety Net Hospitals for Pharmaceutical Access (SNHPA), the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF), National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) and the 340B Coalition.
