Phillip joined Semler Brossy in 2016 and has extensive experience supporting Compensation Committees and Management teams across compensation issues. His clients range from venture-backed startups to blue chips across a diverse range of industries and contexts, with a particular focus on the technology, financial services, and commodities sectors.
Phillip’s work with technology companies gives him an understanding of leading-edge compensation design and market developments. His work with financial services companies gives him insight in to managing programs in a strongly regulated, highly-scrutinized environment, and his work with commodities companies gives him perspective on how to manage compensation in cyclical, capital-intensive industries with long time horizons. These experiences allow him to provide grounded, market-based advice as well as outside-the-box perspectives.
Phillip is intellectually curious – digging deep to understand each client’s unique business and industry context and leveraging these insights when advising on executive compensation programs. He is a strong thought partner for leaders that think strategically about the role compensation plays in their organization.
