Devann Steele in a Vice President, Enterprise Compensation at Humana, where she is responsible for Incentives, Pay Programs (e.g., Pay Transparency, Equity, Structure), Recognition, Job Architecture, Mobility, Regulatory, Analytics, Business Aligned Teams, and reports to the SVP, Total Rewards.  Devann has led multiple large-scale projects to include the design and implementation of a new job architecture, M&A integration planning and implementation, Exploring Our Total Rewards (TR) initiative, and spoke at the 2023 WorldatWork TR conference on the importance of pay transparency.   

 

Devann has been with Humana for 16+ years in jobs across the enterprise to include Human Resources, Medicare, served as the Veterans Network Resource Group (NRG) President where she received recognition for her leadership and is the new executive sponsor of the Pride NRG where she supports LGBTQ+ associates and allies. 

 

Prior to joining Humana, Devann was an Army Officer in multiple roles including: Human Resources, Company Commander, and Training, Programs, and Operations.  Devann deployed to Balad, Iraq as a Movement Control Officer in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004-2005.  While in the military, Devann received numerous distinguished awards for outstanding achievement, exceptional contribution and loyal support to an external organization, Administrative Excellence, and superior achievement in Human Resources.   

 

Devann is an avid learner and graduated Magna Cum Laude, PhD in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizations and Management from Trident University.  Her dissertation examined the cultural fit of acquisitions, integration efforts, and the impact on organizational commitment.  In addition, Devann earned a master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University where she received the outstanding graduate award, and a bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts with a minor in Environmental Studies from University of Vermont.

 

Devann and her husband Kevin, have two amazing boys, Lincoln and William, and two dogs, Big Blue and Fenway.
